Certainly the word cancer used to be a lot more scary than it is today. No
doubt, cancer is still a bad thing. However, there is so much more we know about
cancer than ever before; there are treatments for many forms of cancer
and some can even be cured.
There are many things that cause cancer more accurately there are a great
number of things that contribute to cancer. Things like smoking and other
environmental conditions we already know cause cancer. There are a number
of things we don't always associate as being carcinogenic.
One of the biggest keys to beating cancer is to diagnose it as early as
possible. Regular check ups and a thorough awareness of you body and
well-being is is your first defense. Many people keep a journal where they
make notes about how they feel and strange physical occurrences.
If you are in a high risk group for any kind of cancer or other related
illness you should have more frequent checkups and make sure you physician
understands you are in a higher risk group. We are not suggesting paranoia
but do recommend that you should schedule more checkups and start being
watchful at an earlier age.
There are many types of cancer and it seems that often new types are
discovered. This is one of the largest areas of medical research and there
are always new treatments, medications and experimental treatments coming
out in the fight against cancer.
